Admin Biographical HistorySheba Feminist Publishers (1980-1994)was launched as a small, independent, racially-mixed not-for-profit workers' publishing co-operative in 1980 by group of seven women involved in the women's liberation movement. Its aims were to provide a place where writing by black, working class, lesbian and new writers of diverse backgrounds could bring their work for publication. Its scope covered fiction and non-fiction, as well as poetry and children's books and published authors such as Sarah Schulman, Sue O'Sullivan and Jewelle Gomez. In an increasingly competitive market, it ceased trading in 1994.
DescriptionThe archive consists of minutes, correspondence, publicity, press cuttings, publications including books and object (1 banner).
