DescriptionCorrespondence and scripts relating to Beveridge's broadcasts on the BBC. Includes:

"Answering you", script featuring Alfred Duff Cooper, Beveridge, John Gloag and Tom Harrison. The compere was Stanley Maxted. The programme was broadcast on the North American Service and African Service, 6-7 July 1941. Includes related correspondence (including with Mary Adams), contract, lists of questions and some proposed answers.

Papers regarding Brains Trust broadcasts, including:
"Any Questions No.62", script recorded on 16 February 1942 (the guests were Beveridge, Ellen Wilkinson and Leslie Burgin) - with contract and related correspondence, including Ronald Boswell and Howard Thomas.
"Any Questions No.69", script recorded on 2 April 1942 (guests were Beveridge, Walter Robert Matthews and Evelyn Waugh)- with contract.
"Second Thoughts" script, 1 June 1942 (broadcast 9 June, on whether everyone should be on soldiers' pay) - with related correspondence (including Howard Thomas and listeners).
"Any Questions No.78", script recorded on 4 June 1942 (for transmission on 9 and 14 June, the other guests included Edward Murrow and Thomas Bodkin) - includes contract.
Contract for Any Questions? recorded on 21 September 1942.
Draft script by Beveridge (1 page) with his second thoughts on small shopkeepers, 17 November 1942.

"Democracy helps itself" broadcast on the Overseas North American Service, 4/5 May 1942 (a note on the script says it was censored by Lanham Titchener).
"Democracy helps itself" broadcast on the North American Service, 11/12 May 1942 (a note on the script states the programme was censored by J W MacAlpine).
Also includes related correspondence and contracts.

"Social insurance, etc.", contract for broadcast on 1 December 1942.
