Admin Biographical History | Eric George Molyneux Fletcher began his career as a solicitor. He was the member of London County Council for Islington South, 1934-49; Labour MP for Islington East, 1945-70. He served as Minister without Portfolio, 1964-66; and, Chairman of Ways and Means and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, 1966-68. He was created Baron Fletcher of Islington (life peer) in 1970. Baron Fletcher was also a governor of the LSE. |
