Early material includes pass books, papers on the Guarantee Fund which ensured the publication of the first Economic Journal, and other accounting papers. Material from the 1970s onwards includes reports and accounts (incomplete), financial policy, discussion papers and other miscellaneous financial papers including VAT, audits and stock valuations.
The RES cash books, ledgers and journal were among the first RES archives to be deposited at BLPES Archives, in 1979 by the then Secretary-General, Aubrey Silberston. The other early accounting papers were included in the Early Records of the RES deposit in 1985.
