DescriptionFiles on the 'Collected Writings of John Maynard Keynes', a wholly RES funded publication embarked on in 1954 to commemorate Keynes as an outstanding economist, and also as a former RES President, Secretary and Economic Journal editor. It was published gradually in 30 volumes between 1971-1990.
Includes publishing agreements, copyright negotiations, minutes of the meetings of the Keynes Memorial Committee and Keynes Edition Committee, policy files, translations and foreign rights (particularly in the USA), royalty calculations and other financial papers, research for the Edition, discussion of bibliographies, correspondence with members of the Keynes family, correspondence with publishers and general administration. Files were mostly kept by Austin Robinson and Donald Winch and date from after Keynes's death in 1945. There are no original papers from the period of Keynes's life, although there are photocopies of his will and of his original publishing agreements which date from 1919-1945.
